Our purpose is to worship and praise God together, to pray for and encourage each other to live our covenant with God and to share Christ's good news with others. As Anabaptist Christians, we will

  • reach out to others,
  • welcome all people,
  • be aware of our neighbors and
  • respond to their needs,
  • give ourselves to service.

Shalom Mennonite Church is located at 800 E. First Street in Newton, KS. Our office hours are:

Monday CLOSED
Tuesday 8:30 AM - Noon; 12:30-5 PM
Wednesday 12-5 PM
Thursday 9 AM - Noon; 1-4 PM
Friday CLOSED

Sunday Morning Schedule:
9:30 AM, Sunday School for ages 2 through adult
10:45 AM, Worship

Potluck on the first Sunday of each month

Nursery for ages 3 and under during worship.

Shalom relies heavily on volunteer involvement from members and friends. Committees and Task Forces handle most details, along with a Church Moderator, Jeannie Zehr. The Coordinating Council oversees the church's programs and consists of the officers of the congregation, the chairperson or designee of each of the standing committees, and the pastor.
